2022 Massachusetts State Qualifier

Westford Table Tennis Club will be hosting the 2022 Massachusetts State Qualifier Tournament on

April 2, 2022 - April 3, 2022.

There will be multiple gender and age based tournaments where top players in the state will be competing to enter into the main draw at US Nationals to be held in Texas.

Top 3 players in each event will advance to the main draw.

Rules

Each event’s playing format is dependent on the number of participants in each event. The Tournament Director and/or Competition Manager reserves the right to change the format of any or all events to preserve fundamental fairness in the tournament. Otherwise, all events will be played as follows: Stage One will be RR groups; and STAGE Two will be played in a single elimination format.

The Competition Manager reserves the absolute right to cancel any event due to lack of registrants.

Awards

All event top three finishers will receive an automatic bye into the main draw of the champion’s particular event at the US National Table Tennis Championships.

The top three finalists in each qualifying events will also receive an appropriate award and certificate confirming the competitor’s final position in the US Nationals State Qualifying Tournament. Entry fee for that event at the US Nationals will be waived.

Restrictions

Only US Citizens and Massachusetts State residents will advance out of the initial Group Stage.

Rating Events and the Open Singles event does not have any citizenship or residency requirements

Proof of US Citizenship and

Massachusetts State residency will be required.

Age cut off dates

U 21 – Born on or After January 1, 2001

U 19 - Born on or after January 1, 2003

U 17 - Born on or after January 1, 2005

U 15 – Born on or after January 1, 2007

U 13 – Born on or after January 1, 2009

U 11 – Born on or after January 1, 2011

40 +: Born on or before December 31, 1982

50 +: Born on or before December 31, 1972

60 +: Born on or before December 31, 1962
